Fund Raising
Yearly operation costs for the band exceeds $30,000.00, excluding instructor salaries and facility space provided by Prince William County Schools. All other costs incurred by the band are funded by band student fees, donations and fund raising. The band boosters have several scheduled fund raising activities and are always looking for new opportunities as operating costs increase yearly. Donations and fund raising activities are needed to help keep student fees reasonable. The “Fund Raising Activities” section below lists some of current fund raising activities.
The C.D. Hylton Band Booster Club is a 501(c)3 organization and operates in part from donations received from the community. Donations made to the Band Boosters are tax deductible. One hundred percent of donations go directly to the C.D. Hylton Band Program for the purchase and/or repair of uniforms, instruments and equipment as well as general operating expenses.
