Band Parent/Student Contract Hylton Marching Band's success
relies on the commitment of both
students and parents. Unlike other sports or clubs, each marching band position has a unique role with no second string or backup.
If a band member fails to show up for a practice/sectional/performance they will have missed the experience of that activity but additionally
the members that did participate in that activity will have to deal with a hole in the formation. To maintain a
unified band and unified sound we need all band members at all functions. Parent also play a critical role in the bands
success by ensuring band members arrive to functions on time, helping their child maintain academic requirements and
volunteering for at least two band functions. Working together will make it fun for all and help our band toward a
superior rating. Please read and sign the linked Parent/Student contract, payment/registration form,
returning completed forms/payment to Kim Davis at band camp prior to 25 Aug.
Summer Sectionals Summer sectionals will be conducted during July and August. Contact
your section leader or Mr. Anderson for specific times.
Fall Rehearsal Times Routine marching band rehearsals will be conducted each week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
afternoons between 2:15 and 4:30p. The Color Guard will practice separate from the band on Thursday evenings 7-9p. Mondays have been left open
for students to take care of appointments and after school make-up work. Any absence from after school rehearsal, performance or fund raiser
will be unexcused and affect your overall grade for marching band.
